Paul Taylor Dance Company
July 15-17, 2010
Two exciting programs!
Program A: July 15 – July 16
Program B: July 17
Paul Taylor is an artist whose trailblazing choreography has touched dance aficionados and novices alike for over six decades. This summer, he celebrates his 80th birthday at the ADF, one of his company’s annual engagements for many years. Once dubbed the ’naughty boy” of dance by the legendary Martha Graham, Mr. Taylor has had a profound impact on the art form with his new and innovative movement which is often satirical and always stirring. His works are performed annually by his own celebrated Company as well as by renowned ballet and modern dance companies here and abroad. This summer, Festival audiences will experience timeless works from the Taylor repertory. Program A includes Sunset (1983), Esplanade (1975), and an ADF-commissioned World Premiere in celebration of Taylor’s 80th birthday. Program B will include Brandenburgs (1988), Runes (1975), and Syzygy (1987).
