DPAC Continues to Take Top Honors

6.15.10- DPAC takes top honors as recipient of The Independent Weekly Best of Award for Live Theatre and The Herald Sun Reader's Choice Award for Best Entertainment for 2010.

DURHAM, NC - DPAC, the new Durham Performing Arts Center once again takes top honors as the recipient of The Independent Weekly Best of Award for Live Theatre and The Herald Sun Reader’s Choice Award for Best Entertainment for 2010.

“These local accolades mean more than all the other recognition or statistics that DPAC garners. Nothing can beat local theatergoers and concert fans telling the world that we are their favorite place for live entertainment. DPAC offers a very intimate experience with no seat more than 135 feet from the stage. Yet it’s large enough to attract a wide variety of superstar live entertainment, from Broadway to concerts to comedy and family shows, many of which used to bypass the Triangle since there wasn’t a large and modern performing arts center. You add to that DPAC’s world-class acoustics and focus on customer service and from day one audience feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Bob Klaus GM of DPAC.

DPAC is no stranger to critical acclaim as this is the second year in a row that DPAC has garnered these prestigious awards. DPAC is also currently listed in the top 50 in Pollstar magazine’s Top Worldwide Theater Venues.

This feat is not surprising for those fans that have visited DPAC since its opening in 2008- from their convenient and plentiful parking, their intimate and world class accommodations, to their courteous and knowledgeable staff- fans know the DPAC experience will always be enjoyable and memorable.

One step onto DPAC’s impeccably kept campus and fans are treated to the signature experience of the DPAC brand. The diverse acts may change (from the best of Broadway, toGRAMMY®Award winning artists of every genre, to critically acclaimed comedians, to family friendly favorites) but the DPAC experience is always consistent.
DPAC has sold out over 80 shows and presented more than 230 ticketed events since its grand opening with over 400,000 guests from the region in attendance.

What’s up next? DPAC’s next exciting events are ADF’s Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak Dance Company (June 17-19), RUBBERBANDance Group (June 24-26) andGRAMMY®Award winning Chaka Khan (June 20). For more information about more upcoming DPAC events, please go to www.dpacnc.com.
