Leon Bridges is coming to DPAC on September 11

February 10, 2016 (Durham, NC) Grammy® Award-nominated R&B artist and singer, songwriter Leon Bridges has announced his fall 2016 tour dates. The tour is scheduled to kick off in Burlington, VT on September 8th, and touches down in a slew of major cities across North America including a stop at DPAC on September 11 before concluding on October 2nd in Richmond, VA. As always, the Texas native’s seven-piece band will join him on the fall trek.

“We are thrilled to be the only venue in the Carolinas to host Grammy Nominated Leon Bridges.  DPAC’s intimate setting provides audiences a unique opportunity to experience one of the brightest new voices in soul music,” said Candice Terrell, Assistant Director of Marketing Concerts & Comedy at DPAC.

Support comes from English singer, songwriter and guitarist Lianne La Havas. Her Grammy® Award–nominated second album, Blood, was released by Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records in the US last summer to critical acclaim. La Havas first came to international attention with her highly praised 2012 debut Is Your Love Big Enough?, which won Album of the Year at iTunes UK as well as Barclaycard Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Best Album nominations. “I’m so excited to go on the road with Leon because I am a fan! It will also be a great chance to see many parts of the USA that I’ve not yet had the pleasure of visiting,” she says.

Intense demand to see the compelling singer/songwriter’s live show has been overwhelming since the release of his universally hailed, Grammy Award-nominated debut album Coming Home (available at smarturl.it/ComingHomeiT), released via Columbia Records on June 23, 2015. The Coming Home deluxe edition features five never-before-released songs from the Coming Home sessions, including: “There She Goes,” “Daisy Mae,” “Mississippi Kisses,” “Here in My Arms,” and “Outta Line”.
