DURHAM, NC- The king of middle class comedy, Rodney Carrington comes to DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center on March 23, 2011.

Ticket prices start at $35.00 plus service charges. Friends of DPAC members may place their orders on Wednesday, October 20th and tickets go on sale Friday, October 22nd at 10am, through Ticketmaster outlets including Crabtree Valley Mall, FYE and Lowes Foods, online at dpacnc.com and through the DPAC Call Center (919.680.2787). Rodney Carrington is a multitalented comedian, actor, and writer who has recorded eight major record label comedy albums selling over two million copies. Two of these albums have been certified gold by the RIAA. Rodney starred in his own TV sitcom Rodney, which ran for two seasons on ABC. He co-wrote and co-starred with country super-star Toby Keith in the feature film Beer for My Horses. He also co-starred in the hit music video by Trace Adkins, "I Got My Game On", which won three awards on the 2008 CMT Music Video Awards, including "Male Video of the Year," and "Video Director of the Year" for Michael Salomon. Rodney was nominated for, and won the category "Supporting Character of the Year" for his role.

Rodney's popularity derives, in large part, from his closeness with his audience by staying true to his Texas roots. He has been a Pollstar Top 100 grossing concert act since 2001, reaching #28 in 2003. According to Pollstar magazine, Rodney was the 4th highest grossing touring comedian in 2009.
