Getting Here

The Center for Live Entertainment in the Triangle lies just 10 minutes from I-40.

DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center is located at 123 Vivian Street, just off the Durham Freeway / NC-147 (Exits 12B or 13), and adjacent to the famous Durham Bulls Athletic Park. We're part of the award-winning American Tobacco Historic District, and freeway access is fast and convenient from Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Cary, Raleigh and all North Carolina via I-40, I-540 and I-85.

Driving Directions
 

From Chapel Hill via Hwy 15-501

  • Highway 15-501 North toward Downtown Durham / Duke University
  • Exit 108-B onto Highway 147 South / Durham Freeway
  • Exit 13 at Chapel Hill Street
  • Left at top of exit ramp onto Chapel Hill Street
  • Right at the third stoplight on Pettigrew Street
  • DPAC is located near the intersection of Petigrew and Blackwell Streets

From Raleigh, Cary and points East

  • I-40 West
  • Exit 279-B onto 147 North toward Downtown Durham (Durham Freeway).
  • Go 7.4 miles.
  • Exit 12-B at Business 15-501 and Mangum / Roxboro Street
  • Merge onto Jackie Robinson Drive
  • Continue on Jackie Robinson Drive past Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP)
  • Right at third stoplight on Blackwell Street
  • DPAC is located near the intersection of Blackwell and Vivian Streets

*Traffic and parking advisory for Durham Bulls home games:

When the Durham Bulls are playing a home game in the Durham Bulls Athletic Park located near DPAC, please look for special signage and routes to DPAC. Blackwell Street will be closed and parking in the South Parking Deck will be limited. DPAC traffic from the Durham Freeway / NC 147 North, will be diverted to Roxboro Street for access to American Tobacco's North Parking Deck and the City of Durham's Corcoran Street Parking Deck, which will both have ample parking availability. The East Parking Deck closest to DPAC will be accessible only from Mangum Street, and parking there may also be limited. Please allow yourself extra time as you may experience slight traffic delays.

From Greensboro, Burlington and points West

  • I-85 North to Durham
  • Exit 172 onto Durham Freeway / Highway 147 South
  • Exit 13 at Chapel Hill Street
  • Left at top of exit ramp onto Chapel Hill Street
  • Right at the third stoplight on Pettigrew Street
  • DPAC is located near the intersection of Petigrew and Blackwell Streets

From points North via I-85

  • I-85 South to Durham
  • Exit 177 at Business 15-501 / Roxboro Street / Downtown
  • Continue through first stoplight at bottom of exit ramp and follow Business 15 / 501 signs to Roxboro Street
  • Left at second light onto Roxboro Street / Business 15-501 South (toward Downtown)
  • Continue 1.6 miles following Business 15-501 signs on Roxboro Street as it merges onto Mangum Street
  • DPAC is located near the intersection of Mangum and Vivian Streets

Public Transportation Options

DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center is located at 123 Vivian Street in the American Tobacco Historic District in Downtown Durham and is served by several nearby Public Transportation options. We’re a short 5-10 minute walk from Durham Station, which is the central transportation hub for all DATA Buses.

In addition, we are also close to several stops on The Bull City Connector, a Fare-FREE bus service from Duke to Golden Belt, Including Ninth Street and Downtown Durham.
