CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

The Durham Performing Arts (DPAC) is rapidly taking shape thanks to a unique partnership between the public and private sectors. While the City of Durham owns the building and is providing the major financing for it, the private sector is making a significant commitment to funding the $44 million theater.

Major Naming Rights

Private sources are currently being offered the opportunity to affiliate their company or brand as a naming rights sponsor with the Durham Performing Arts Center.

There are five major naming rights sponsorships: the building, the theater or performance hall, the stage, the atrium lobby, and the exterior plaza. Capitol Broadcasting Company has secured the plaza. BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina has named the atrium lobby. And an agreement is pending for the stage.

The remaining naming rights are for the building and the performance hall. Interested parties should contact Hill Carrow at (919) 890-6284 or hcarrow@sportsproperties.com

Additional Naming Opportunities

The City of Durham recently gave approval to opening up additional naming opportunities at the DPAC.

Now individuals, families, foundations, and corporations can contribute to the Performing Arts Center capital campaign and have their names placed on everything from dressing rooms to seats.

Funds raised will help enhance the DPAC with artwork and other finishing touches that will ensure a WOW factor for the new venue. A portion of the funds will also benefit the Durham Arts Council, Carolina Theater, and Hayti Heritage Center.
