Through the generosity of our sponsors, the TRS awards are run at no cost to those who apply and participate.

What locations are eligible for Triangle Rising Stars?

High schools and students in Central North Carolina are invited to participate.  Schools and students in the following counties are eligible to participate: Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Durham, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Orange, Person, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Vance, Wake, Warren and Yadkin.

What are the important deadlines and dates for 2022/2023?

  • School Registration deadline is November 11, 2022.

  • Production Dates for high school musical review should take place before April 30, 2023.

  • Student Stage Manager Application deadline is April 7, 2023.

  • Opening Number Rehearsals are May 6-7, 2023.

  • Rehearsals for top 20 Triangle Rising Stars finalists is May 10-16, 2023.

  • Triangle Rising Stars Awards is May 18, 2023.

How are students and schools adjudicated?

A qualified panel of adjudicators will review musicals and student applications using a 0-10 scoring model that is detailed in the TRS Handbook.
