More than 30 of the Triangle’s finest restaurant dishes will be paired with world-class wines at the second annual “Sip + Savor – A Wine, Food, and Music Experience” at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) this fall. Guests will enjoy live music and desserts on the DPAC stage. Some of the world’s finest wine producers and sommeliers will host hands-on educational classes and panel discussions on the wine industry. Sip + Savor will be held on October 14, 2018, from 4-7 pm.
“Sip + Savor – A Wine, Food, and Music Experience” is hosted by the teams behind The Bull City Food & Beer Experience, an annual event held each spring at DPAC, and TASTE, an annual four-day series of food and spirits events produced by Durham Magazine. “Our vision with Sip+Savor is to create a fun-filled event with educational components, highlight North Carolina’s finest restaurants & culinary talents by pairing them with outstanding wines from around the globe,” said a spokesperson.
All three levels of the famed DPAC venue will be open for attendees to engage with restaurants and wineries in addition to an on-stage experience highlighting the North Carolina Wine Industry and the Agriculture that feeds it. Additionally, we will host VIP ticket holders in the newly renovated President’s Club with rare and specialty spirits, beer & wine and private catering. The VIP experience offers a private entrance and restrooms for guests.
A portion of proceeds will benefit Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (www.foodshuttle.org), a nonprofit, volunteer organization that each year re-routes millions of pounds of healthy food to people in need in a seven-county area. This food comes from retail food donations, the Food Shuttle Teaching Farm, volunteer food drives and field gleaning.
