DPAC is proud to be part of a new annual event where guests can sample dishes from North Carolina’s incredible restaurants and fine wines from around the world while supporting local charities. The inaugural Sip + Savor - A Wine & Food Experience on October 15th, 2017, is a collaboration between Bull City Food & Beer Experience and TASTE events (produced by Durham & Chapel Hill Magazines) and DPAC—Durham Performing Arts Center. Hosted at DPAC with sample areas on all three levels, Sip + Savor will highlight North Carolina’s finest restaurants and culinary talents by pairing them with wine from all around the globe, in an intimate environment that allows attendants to eat up the local culinary scene while learning more about it and the wines that are being shared. Guests will have the chance to interact with and learn from renowned chefs, wine producers and sommeliers, as well as enjoy a “Home Grown” on-stage experience highlighting local vendors and allowing guests to behold DPAC from a perspective not offered to many. The VIP experience, sponsored by Causey Aviation, features exclusive access to the newly renovated President’s Club with rare and specialty spirits, beer & wine and private catering. We anticipate around 1000 attendants and our target demographic is EVERYONE!
Notable Chefs Participating: Scott Howell of Bar Virgile, Michael Lee of M Sushi, Bill Smith of Crooks Corner, Eric Montagne of Standard Foods, Charlie Deal of JuJube, Brandon Sharp of Carolina Crossroads at the Carolina Inn, Aaron Benjamin of Gocciolina, Jim Wald of Glasshalfull, Tim Lyons of Blu Seafood & Kevin Callaghan of ACME.
Date: Sunday, October 15, 2017. Time: 3:30pm – 7pm. Our VIP tickets will be allowed in 30 minutes early and we will open the doors at 3:30pm with general admission starting at 4pm.
This event will also serve as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for local charities and missions. This year, a portion of proceeds will benefit Keep Durham Beautiful (https://keepdurhambeautiful.org), a nonprofit volunteer organization working in partnership with the City of Durham’s General Services Department and the County of Durham to bring private businesses, citizens and community organizations together to conserve and enhance the appearance and environment of Durham through cleanup events, beautification projects and educational activities. Sip + Savor will support a different charity each year; next year a Raleigh nonprofit will be highlighted.

For your safety, all guests and their bags are subject to inspection before entry. This inspection may include the use of metal detectors. Restricted items include, but are not limited to, Alcohol, Cameras, Glass Bottles, and Weapons of any kind. In addition, we will also now restrict backpacks and any oversized bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches x 10 inches (about the size of a standard milk crate). Safety first is our goal.
