DPAC to Welcome Four Millionth Guest
In celebration of the upcoming attendance milestone, DPAC would like to ask members of the Triangle community to nominate someone to be the “Special 4 Millionth Guest.” This very special guest will be invited to have a “VIP Night Out” including a pair of seats to HAMILTON on November 7.
Nominations for DPAC’s 4 millionth guest can be submitted via this entry portal.
Entries must include the nominee’s contact information, as well as the reasons for which he/she should be chosen to be DPAC’s “Special 4 Millionth Guest.” Nominations should be submitted in conjunction with an explanation as to how he/she has made a difference on the Triangle community. The lucky winner will receive a prize package, featuring two tickets to HAMILTON and passes to the Johnson Lexus President’s Club hospitality area on Wednesday, November 7, a pre-show dinner for two at NanaSteak, and a one-night stay at Aloft Downtown Durham. As an extra bonus, this special guest will also get to be invited to the exclusive DPAC cast party for the cast and crew of HAMILTON.
DPAC’s advance to this attendance landmark has been driven by a mission to be guests’ favorite place for live entertainment. Since 2008, DPAC has hosted blockbuster shows direct from Broadway, world-renowned concerts, celebrated comedians and a wealth of other special events. DPAC has also been consistently ranked among the top five most attended theaters in the U.S. for the past ten years and was recently named Theater of the Year by International Entertainment Buyers Association.
“I am so proud of where DPAC has come since opening in 2008,” reflects Bob Klaus, DPAC General Manager. “In just ten years, we’ve welcomed 4 million guests, which some venues take decades to accomplish. It is with the hard work of our dedicated staff, the incredibly talented cast and crews from our national tours and most of all, the support of the Triangle community that has enabled us to reach yet another milestone in our theater’s short history.”
Since opening in 2008, DPAC has presented nearly 1,018 hit Broadway performances, 287 concerts and 103 celebrity comedians. Almost 810 of these events have been total sellouts including multi-week runs of Disney’s The Lion King, Broadway’s #1 blockbuster WICKED, The Book of Mormon and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Starring the Rockettes. Renowned artists such as Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton and Aretha Franklin have graced the stage, and comedians like Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer and Gabriel Iglesias have made DPAC audiences laugh. DPAC is also home to SunTrust Broadway at DPAC, one of the top Broadway Series in the U.S.
