“We couldn’t be more excited to have Harry Connick Jr. return to the DPAC stage. He was such a fan favorite last December,” said Bob Klaus, General Manager of DPAC. “Also, what could make a better Valentine’s Day gift than a great dinner and an evening with the romantic voice of Mr. Connick?”
Although Connick has recorded various genres of music, from traditional pop to instrumental jazz to funk and blues, he has continued to show a deep, abiding affection for The Great American Songbook. His latest album ‘Your Songs!!,’ which has garnered a GRAMMY Nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, consists of Connick singing familiar songs with a full jazz big band and string orchestra. As with nearly all of his previous albums, he wrote each of the orchestrations himself.
Connick also orchestrated ‘Musicians’ Village,’ a cornerstone for the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity. A New Orleans crooner himself, Connick helped conceive the rebuilding effort designed to construct a community, as well as preserve a culture, post-hurricane Katrina.
