“We are excited to bring Jo Koy to the DPAC stage for the first time.  Koy has quickly become one of the most popular comedians in the nation, and we are honored that he chose DPAC to share his talents with our audience,” says Candice Terrell, Assistant Director of Marketing at DPAC.

Jo Koy’s humble beginnings in standup comedy took place in Las Vegas coffee shops in the early 1990s.  Now, he is recognized as one of the most successful comedians in the nation.  Koy considers his big break to be when he performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2005, being one of the very few to earn a standing ovation for his performance.  Since then, he has two successful Comedy Central shows, Dont Make Him Angry and Lights Out, in which he draws most of his inspiration from his family, Filipino heritage, and more.  In 2017, Koy self-produced his own Netflix original titled Jo Koy: Live from Seattle, which was released worldwide.  Koy can also be seen on Kevin Hart’s and Lionsgate’s platform, on which he hosts the unscripted show Inglorious Pranksters.

Jo Koy is also a weekly guest on The Adam Carolla Show podcast, and is the host of his own podcast, The Koy Pond on Podcast One.  Koy has also appeared as a panelist in over 100 episodes of Chelsea Lately.  Additionally, he has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, @Midnight with Chris Hardwick, Spike TVs Adam Carolla & Friends Build Stuff Live, VH1, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and many others.

Jo Koy knew he wanted to become a comedian at eleven years old.  Later on, he would break a record for the most tickets sold by a single artist at The Blaisell Concert Hall in Honolulu.  Most recently, it has been announced that Koy will star in the live-action Anastasia movie as Vladimir Lenin.

There is no doubt that Jo Koy will delight audiences and leave them wanting more.
