About Durham Wayfinders
When arriving for an event at DPAC, guests are welcomed by members of the Durham Wayfinders. Wayfinders help guests navigate from the nearby parking areas, distribute Broadway programs, and welcome guests at DPAC’s entry doors and entry lobby areas. This group of almost 250 are part of a City of Durham volunteer program where members share their time and talents in the spirit of helping everyone feel welcome at DPAC.

Wayfinder Roles
- Lobby Greeters. Welcome and assist guests at the entrances to DPAC's lobbies.
- Parking Lot Greeters. Provide directions and information to guests arriving at the two main parking areas used for DPAC events.
- Lobby Map Assistants. Direct guests in need of assistance to their seats after they enter DPAC's main lobby.
- Program Distributors. Pass out event programs at Broadway events.
- Elevator Assistants. Assist guests with the elevators.
- Curb To Seat. Assist guests with accessibility needs as they arrive at DPAC for their event.
- Outdoor Attendants. Provide warm welcomes and directional assistance as guests make their way from the parking areas to DPAC.
- Line Management. Help guests navigate lines at DPAC's ticket center, keeping lobby areas functioning smoothly during event ingress.

DPAC will be accepting Wayfinder applications for the 2026 / 2027 season from now until July 1, 2026.
DPAC's Community Engagement team will review all submitted applications this summer, and will reach out as needed to schedule in person interviews taking place in July and early August for the upcoming DPAC 2026 / 2027 season.
Note: In order to participate as a Wayfinder in the upcoming 2026 / 2027 season at DPAC, Wayfinders will be required to attend an Orientation & Training event, tentatively scheduled in the afternoon on Sunday, August 30. More details will be provided to those selected to participate.
