Interview with the Triangle’s Best Actress by Bella Nesbeth

Recently, I got the chance to interview Symone Spencer, who’s incredible rendition of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from Funny Girl along with her killer dance moves and acting skills received her the  Best Actress award at Triangle Rising Stars here at DPAC. Here’s what she said:

Bella: What are you most excited about at The Jimmy awards?

Symone: Just being able to be in an environment…NEW YORK at that, and do something I love around others who love the same thing.

B: How did you get into theater? S: My first show was in middle school. I was Annie and I’m a singer first so I auditioned because my theater teacher really wanted me to and from there I just knew I wanted to be more than just a singer I wanted to do it all because I loved the feeling of it!

B: Who is your biggest supporter?

S: My family! They [always] support every and anything I do!

B: How did you feel when you won? S: I was shocked. It was truly an amazing moment that I will cherish forever.

B: Who is your biggest role model? S: I have so many that I cant pick just one. From family members to celebrities I just take each and everything from them all and it had made me the person I am today!

Congratulations Symone, I wish you luck at The Jimmy Awards and in all of your future endeavors!
