Trevor Noah Ambassador Blog

Following the whimsical magic of Giselle, the Trevor Noah brought a fierce reality check, and crowd busting with laughter to the DPAC stage.

The night opened with Will Sylvester, a comic bursting with energy. Both Trevor an Will were sure to include Durham and DPAC specific jokes in their sets, which the crowd readily appreciated.

As an ambassador however, my night looks a little different.  2 hours of volunteering, people to meet, things to do and experience to be had before we get to sit and enjoy the show!

My friend and I, who was also working this show had just finished closing night of our school’s production of the previously DPAC-toured musical, Anastasia. Needless to say, we were exhausted but so ready to help out on the big stage!

My night opened in the ticketing both, shadowing some very kind DPAC employees, each eager to assist every guest. While I admit didn’t get to do much hands on work this night, I am so grateful for this time.  I was shown the process of selling tickets, relocating tickets, and various procedures for when issues arise. For example, what happens when guests purchase tickets and arrive on a different show night?

Feeling grateful for my newfound ticketing knowledge, my friend and I headed to the theater. Will and Trevor gave incredible performances. It was a night filled with wit, various accents and refreshing takes on life’s silliest challenges, with a little bit of “Sweet Caroline” sprinkled in of course. Thank you so much for stopping by to join us in Durham Trevor, it was such a joy to finally see you perform!  And a huge thank you to DPAC and the ambassador program for this incredibly comedic night!

In the words of Trevor Noah himself, “hasta luego muchachos!”
