David Foster & Katharine McPhee Ambassador Blog

Last night, I was fortunate enough to see David Foster and Katharine McPhee live in concert.

My shadowing assignment consisted of working at the box office. I worked with Rick, who you can see in the picture below. My job was to hold open the door for patrons. Even though it was a little chilly, I actually really enjoyed this assignment because this small act of kindness was rewarded with gratitude and warm smiles.

After my assignment was finished, I headed to my seat, which was awesome! Look how cool the lighting looks!! I love the blue.

The show itself was really amazing!! I am a huge Mariah Carey fan. David Foster produced Rainbow, which is one of my favorite albums. He also has worked with so many other artists I admire, like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Destiny’s Child, Barbara Streisand, Brandy, and many others.

Katharine McPhee is probably the best singer I have ever heard live in concert. My favorite song she sang was a Smash mash-up. She had an amazing ability to connect with the audience. She even came out to sing some songs, which was super cool. She sang “Redneck Woman” right in front of me!!

Clay Aiken also was in attendance and sang. David Foster happens to be the uncle of his child. So, we got a bonus performance from Clay, which was also really neat.

All in all, the show was very entertaining. I was unaware of how many songs I sing that David Foster produced.  Although it was only in Durham for one night, if you have the chance to catch this in another city, I highly recommend it.
