On Saturday I had the privilege of seeing both the ins and out of the Blue Cross NC Ticket Center, as well as the hilarious and unhinged show Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue. 

 

Before the show, I shadowed the team at DPAC’s Ticketing and Will Call center. So many guests came up to our window with requests varying from picking up tickets they bought by phone to purchasing DPAC gift, or even purchasing tickets for Golden Girls, just minutes before curtain! Everyone on the ticketing team was so fun and kind, and I had a great time!

 

 

The show was absolutely amazing, with nonstop laughter and some surprising story arcs that I was not expecting to see from the Golden Girls.     Instead of retelling TV episodes, the story is original, and includes the girls creating a casual dating app for seniors, Rose going on a drug trip, and Sophia committing a felony. 

 

The cast — which was comprised of entirely men — was fantastic, with many ad libbed references to Durham, DPAC, and the audience. All five actors were incredibly talented, bringing their onscreen characters to life before our eyes, and their chemistry and timing was impeccable.

 

 

Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue was a fantastic show, with tons of humor, spectacle, and heart, and I was extremely honored to be able to see this wonderful show with amazing seats courtesy of DPAC, and I’m excited to see many more in the future!
