Beautiful Surprise at David & Tamela Mann

Mann did David and Tamela Mann put on a good show!!! (Get it, the pun…. Mann….)

During this shift, I got to work with the lovely Cora Stumpf in the Showstopper position, where we would greet people as they came into the show. It is always a great time getting to meet people, as they are all excited before the show begins. Everyone is always buzzing with excitement entering DPAC, ready to see the show, and this was no exception.

I went in blind to the show, not knowing what to expect, but I was blown away by the talent on stage. Mann, does Tamela have a voice on her! The show itself was split into roughly three different sections. David and Tamela started the show singing some songs about their relationship. The second section consisted of them bringing some friends of theirs, a couple, on stage to have a “fireside chat.” They spoke about their relationships and the struggles they have faced within their own marriages. And last but not least, the third part of the show started with David Mann performing some stand-up (a couple got re-engaged during this part of the show) and ended with Tamela singing gospel church music.

The main themes woven throughout the show were love and relationships of any kind, whether it is friendship or a relationship such as marriage, and their faith. It was clear that both of them were very passionate about helping the audience through tough times in relationships and offering advice on how to get through it. As mentioned previously, this was the most clear during the fireside chat, where they opened up about health journeys affecting relationships within their marriage and how they got through that.

David and Tamela put on a beautiful show! I think this show has something for everyone.
